FTIE Families,

The Executive staff of the First Tee of the Inland Empire is closely monitoring the developments related to the COVD-19 (Coronavirus) situation within our service area. We are receiving information from multiple organizations within the healthcare and public safety industries. This includes information from the California Department of Public Health, the San Bernardino County Department of Public Health, and school districts in our service area. These departments receive daily updates from the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention regarding the effect of the virus across the United States.

Based on the decision of many local school districts to cancel classes until April, we will follow suit and are halting all programming for at least two (2) weeks. This includes camps, Play Days, Test Days, special events and LSE classes. Session Two classes are scheduled to begin on March 30th but we will be assessing the situation and will adjust our start date if necessary. Our staff will be meeting weekly to make adjustments to programming schedules and other planned chapter activities. We are currently working on an online alternative that can be delivered to our participants while they are confined to their houses. We will continue to post updates on our website, on our social media platforms and will communicate with parents through email regarding schedule changes. We will do everything possible to provide a full season of classes and other activities. Parents wishing to cancel their Session Two registration will be eligible for a full refund by emailing their request to deannataylor@thefirstteeinlandempire.org.

We encourage parents to remain diligent in their preventative efforts with participants. In addition to recommended hygiene practices, we suggest parents clean the grips of participants’ golf clubs after usage, with household cleaning sprays or disinfecting wipes. If you have any additional questions please email Executive Director Pamela Tyler: pamelatyler@thefirstteeinlandempire.org.
